"I bought this toy at toysrus because I always wanted an rc car with a camera I could see with. It is realy a lot of fun to drive around your house and explore under furniture and chase your pets. Its a little expensive but you have to take in consideration what you are getting, you are actually getting three toys in one. You have the rc tank itself which does a good job of getting over obsticals such as clothes, toys, and rugs on the floor. the tank also alows you to pivit and scan the room in one spot which is very useful. The atv also comes with a spy camera which allows you to see what the toy is seeing though a head set. Also it has an electric ear. "My son asked for this toy for Christmas, and while it is quite a simple device it is also an interesting way to see the World from the toy's perspective. The black and white viewer works quite well in a variety of light situations and the range is at least 10m through brick walls in the house."

"At first, I had serious doubts about the ATV spy video car...then I got one for my son's christmas gift. Want to talk about fun? This dad did not want to stop playing with it...not to mention my friends, who would bring their children over to play. And my son loves it, too...But that is where the fun ends and the reality of how companies relate to their customers begins...Horror story? A nightmare in customer service? HARDLY!!! Every other company in the U.S. should look to Wild Planet for direction and "human" customer relations policies...I cannot remember the name of the Wild Planet representative with whom I talked, but I am sure the company can pull up the file and reward/praise her as she deserves. Very friendly, understanding and helpful are descriptive words that only gloss over the surface of her demeanor. And as great as she was in dealing with me, she was only following company policy...I informed the representative that in our overzealous play with my son, I had broken (crushed is a better word) the eye-piece glasses for the video spy car. I asked if I could buy a replacement, and was told, "No, but we would be happy to replace it for you at no cost."WHAT????????????"But "I" Broke it...it isn't the company at fault...it didn't fall apart or malfunction...I was clumsy and squished it," was my reply. Whereby our friendly representative informed me that it didn't matter...they don't SELL replacements...they more than happy to help customers out.
I didn't send a dime, I didn't send postage...in about 5 days, there was a new video receiver eye-piece in the mailbox. My son would have done back-flips if he knew how, and I was left with having to do something I have never done before...write a GOOD review of a company. No problem, though, and I am happy to say that I will be telling everyone about the company, the product and our nameless representative. Also, it is a good thing my son enjoys the spy toys so much, because I would rather get quality toys from a GREAT company (though I will be seeing what else Wild Planet has to offer than just spy toys), than shovel money into cheap toys that break and are backed (not backed) by giant companies who could care less about the customer after the sale is made. "It is an odd thing, but the best stuff at CES 2008 so far hasn't really been gadgets but toys. Sure huge home servers, Google loaded GPS systems and High Def camcorders are fun but can they really compete with remote control spy cars – don’t think so. So tomorrow I am itching to take The Spy Video ATV-360 out for a test drive. It’s the next gen of the way cool Spy Video Car from a couple of years back. That fantastic little toy was a remote controlled car that sent video signals from its integrated camera back to the user who could see who was coming on a LCD headset. The new version the Spy Video ATV-360 has a few new cool tricks in that it the operator can now spin it round 360 degree room scan. In addition it now streams audio as well as video the headset enabling would-be spies to listen in on conversations going on as much as 75 feet away. The maker claims that the car is also more robust and can deal with treacherous landscapes like, err, laundry strewn bedroom floors. Sadly we are going to have to wait until autumn before it launches."

"This thing is a lot of fun. My 8yo son got it for his birthday and han't stopped playing with it. He made buildings out of the boxes and styrofoam from his other toys, and when you drive the tank around them it looks like a city through the viewfinder. The remote range is suprisingly long; he can drive it in our downstairs living room from his upstairs bedroom. My only issue is the camera...the image quality is similar to a late 90's baby monitor. "Works as advertised. The black and white video display is pretty good - not great but you can definitly see where the remote car is. Takes a littel while for a 10 year-old to get really good at controlling the car but eventually gets it. It does NOT "wipe-out" our WiFi in our house as someone else claims."
